We are pleased to announce that Chef Bryan Ross has been promoted to Executive Chef at Shark's Tooth Golf Club. Chef Bryan has truly been an asset to the Beach Club for the last two years, in which time he has shown us his passion for cooking and provided us with exceptional cuisine. His enthusiasm for Spanish, Mediterranean, and Mexican flavors is evident in such menu favorites as the Grouper Tacos and Mediterranean Platter. As the newly appointed Executive Chef of Shark's Tooth, he is excited to create a menu there that members will savor, as well. Please join us in congratulating Chef Bryan on this wonderful career opportunity.
Joining us as the new Executive Chef at the WaterSound Beach Club is Chef Mikel Anderson. Chef Mikel comes to the Beach Club with exceptional experience and a passion for southern food. He has been a member of the Troon Golf team for five years and has held the position of Executive Sous Chef at Troon North in Phoenix, AZ for the last three years, working directly with corporate Chef Gerard Brunett. Prior to being with Troon North, Chef Mikel held positions at several fine facilities including Haig Point Club on Daufuskie Island, SC and the Wilmington Island Club in Savannah, GA.
Mikel is excited to be joining the WaterSound Beach Club team. He is passionate about foods with fresh and exotic flavors and is excited to bring his style and creativity to the Club. Says Chef Mikel, "One of my favorite styles of cooking is in fusion cooking. While I am there I will be utilizing the fresh seafood of the Atlantic and Gulf to create southern food with an island type flair. You will also see many French and southwestern influences. I like to try to be as diverse as possible with menus and give the guest an opportunity to cross food genres."
While member favorites will remain a staple to the Club menu, you will begin to see some additions from Chef Mikel throughout the summer. Mikel cannot wait to meet our members - his first full week is May 17th, so please come by, say hello, and join us in giving him a warm welcome!
